Does this describe you?
  • You want to study fields beyond your intended major, to become more intellectually well rounded.
  • You are looking for a course designed for non-majors, since this is not your specialty, but you don’t want to be fed a watered-down version of the material.
  • You find that the Letters and Science breadth list is a start, but it doesn’t give you much direction.

How can you tell which breadth courses will meet you at your level and then challenge and motivate you to go deeper?

The Deans of the College want to help!

They have inspired and supported the faculty to create a new cluster of courses called the Letters and Science College Courses. These courses have been designed to foster the ideals of a liberal arts education at the highest level of excellence. They will be taught by some of the most outstanding teachers on the faculty, for students who are eager to take an intellectual risk. If you are interested in exploring a new area of interest at a deeper level than is required or offered by the usual introductory course, sign up for one of the courses listed below.

Students interested in satisfying L&S breadth will also be interested in the new L&S Discovery Courses.
